Planning a birthday party is always a special occasion, but when it comes to celebrating the big day for a child with disabilities, it can be an opportunity to create something truly magical. Every child deserves a party that reflects their unique personality, interests, and needs—a celebration where they feel included, loved, and truly at the center of the day. The folks at Laila’s Gift know just how special birthdays are, especially when they are not promised. They bring birthday parties straight to the doorstep of children with disabilities.

Laila’s Gift was founded in 2022 by mom Shari Bailey in her home state of Maryland. Since its inception, they have served over 1,000 families. Laila’s Gift is proud to announce the launch of its Sunflower Field of Celebrations™ program nationally starting in April. Their Celebration In A Box turns milestones and birthdays into exciting parties for the whole family. Each giant gift box is stuffed to the brim with birthday goodies: balloons, party favors, decorations, personalized gifts, and of course, a delicious cake for everyone to enjoy!

Bailey knows firsthand what it’s like to raise a child with a disability. In 2014, she gave birth to twins, Lana and Laila. While Lana was considered healthy, Laila was diagnosed with a rare condition – Jacobsen Syndrome, a rare congenital condition that affects 1 in 100,000 newborns and often presents life-threatening challenges. They weren’t sure if Laila would see her second birthday. That’s why Bailey makes every single milestone or birthday a “true celebration of life.”
Today, Laila is ten years old!

Each box also includes invaluable resources and support for families, focused on their mental well-being and self-care and ensuring that they, too, feel appreciated and valued. Siblings also receive goodies and a special RSVP to their virtual Zigglebee pARTy™, where children can connect and create over art while learning the value of kindness and preventing bullying within the special needs community.
